New Frontier Young Democrats (NFYD) was established in January 2002 with the help of the New Frontier Democratic Club. NFYD was founded by a group of young people interested in becoming more involved in the Democratic Party and who wanted issues pertinent to the African-American community to remain a part of public policy discussions within the party and among elected leadership in the region. NFYD's mission has been to, "... join together African-Americans who have a strong interest in governmental affairs and the political process in order to support individuals, institutions and initiatives that promote the ideals of the Democratic Party". In recent years, NFYD has participated in campaigns at the local, state and national levels, hosted a community forum to address the proposed "Racial Privacy Initiative", volunteered with voter registration projects, as well as, sponsored networking socials. NFYD members continue to participate in activities with the California Democratic Party, the California Young Democrats, Young Democrats of America and other organizations dedicated to the mission and goals of the Democratic Party. Please feel free to browse the site for more information about our great organization.
